Head of God Serapis
This statue head represents Serapis, a syncretic god introduced at the beginning of the Ptolemaic period to merge Egyptian and Greek religious beliefs. Serapis was deliberately crafted by the Ptolemaic rulers to unite their diverse subjects under a shared cult. His creation drew from both Egyptian deities—especially Osiris and Apis—and Greek gods such as Zeus, Dionysus, and Hades.
