Statue of Osirian Triad & a King
This intriguing statue presents a pharaoh—likely King Horemheb—alongside the Osirian Triad: Osiris, Isis, and Horus. Although the statue bears no inscriptions, scholars believe it represents Horemheb due to its context and style. Horemheb began his career not as royalty, but as a military general and close advisor to King Tutankhamun. After a period of instability and the Amarna religious reforms, Horemheb restored traditional worship and eventually rose to the throne as the final ruler of Egypt’s 18th Dynasty (c. 1323–1295 BCE).
